杨国枢教授早期从事实验研究，论文多以英文写成，在后来各个重要的研究阶段，也都会撰写英文论文来做总结，亦有许多为应邀参加国际性研讨会所写。本文集特此集结杨先生所撰之英文论文，并以「早期实验与社会人格研究」（Early Experiments and Social Personality Research）、「心理转变与现代化研究」（Research in Psychological Transformation and Modernization）、「华人本土心理学研究」（Research in Indigenous Chinese Psychology）三大主题，分别于九、十、十一等册呈现，其重要性可视为杨先生主要心理学研究论着的缩版。

作者介绍

杨国枢教授（1932–2018）一生致力学术研究、倡导政治社会改革与民主化。曾任教台大、香港中文大学、佛光及中原大学心理学系，担任生命线协会、心理学会、心理卫生学会、亚洲社会心理学会理事长、中央研究院副院长。1998年当选中央研究院院士，2003年担任教育部国家讲座主持人。先生曾主编《大学杂志》，参与国民党与党外公政会协商，创立澄社、担任大学改革协会理事长、行政院教育改革咨询委员兼教育理念与目标组召集人。

瞿海源（主编）：曾任中央研究院民族所及社会所研究员、社会所所长、台大社会系教授、澄社社长、报社主笔、民间司改会董事长、公视董事。
